Minutes
of the St. Clair County Fire Chiefs Association
July 25, 2002
Meeting
was called to order at 7:07pm.
The
minutes from the May meeting were approved as distributed.
Treasurers
report – Rich report $200.00 in dues had been received, and a bill for the
license plates for the trailers in the amount of $171.00 would be paid.
Balance in the checking account was $28,005.84.
Treasurers report was accepted as presented.
MABAS
– Communications with St. Louis is about figured out. Need to do some testing with the frequencies and PL Tones.
Once it is complete the information will be passed out.
St. Louis is getting the required signatures to join division 32.
Should be done by August. Several
departments have submitted their paperwork for joining the division.
It should be approved at the executive board meeting next week.
We are still working on getting a copy of the agreements to allow the
private sector to join.
IFSI
– Duane Bales advised that there are terrorism pamphlets are available thru
IFSI. IFSI will be sending out
disks that contain objectives and visuals to assist departments with training.
911
– Marty Bausano advised that the map is available for departments to view at
the 911 office. Departments need to
check their district because there are corrections that need to be made.
Call Marty to set up a date and time to review your district.
CAD
System – 8 proposals were received. Should
know within a couple of months who will be presenting their software to the area
departments, chiefs, and cities. The price ranges were from $375,000 to $890,000.
Radio
System – Motorola engineering is working on the county plan now to be done
sometime around August 1st. It
will include pricing for several different ways of operation.
LEPC/SCCSESA
– working on plume dispersements for some facilities in the county.
Response procedures are being reviewed at their may be some changes made.
St. Clair and Madison County Haz Mat Teams have been extended an
invitation by St. Louis City to share services.
The team will be getting together this Sunday.
If your department needs a response from the Haz Mat Team, call and ask
for a duty officer first.
Technical
Rescue classes are running with other special rescue classes being planned.
If you have equipment, and would want to be on the task force, contact
Lee Smith.
Representative
Tom Holbrook will be hosting Legislative Hearings at the courthouse in August to
begin addressing long term problems facing the fire service.
You must be on the agenda to address the committee.
Call Representative Holbrook’s office to make arrangements.
OSFM
– St. Clair County will be helping with the DuQuoin State Fair on September 1st.
Assistance will be needed for 4 hr. shifts with 8-10 people per shift.
More information will be forthcoming.
A
motion was made to pay $324.00 for supplement pills for the K-9 owned by the
Office of the State Fire Marshall that is assigned to Kevin Smith.
Motion was seconded. A
discussion was held on the motion. A
roll call vote was held with 10 departments voting no, and 8 departments voting
yes. Motion was denied.
The
dealer showcase will not be held this year.

was adjourned at 8:21 pm.
